The Holt Bolt began in 2013 as a 6-8km / 30-obstacle mud run. Previously the Holt brand was solely fitness focused offering personal training, strength & conditioning and gym memberships. The first official Holt Bolt mud run was a fundraiser for a local Moreton Bay charity. The Holt Bolt mud runs were very popular, with thousands of people completing them. In 2015/16 Richard Holt, the Holt Bolt founder, created obstacle courses for schools. These new Holt Bolt Kids obstacle courses visited hundreds of schools throughout Queensland.

In 2016 while facilitating a Holt Bolt Kids obstacle course at a local Special School, Richard met a young man called Jacko. One of Richards mentors, Katrina, asked him to work with Jacko in a 1:1 capacity at a Holt Fitness gym. Before long, Jacko was lifting heavy, having fun, smashing his goals and had built a strong rapport with Richard. Jacko was the first young person Richard had mentored who lived with Autism and an intellectual impairment. Before long, Jacko inspired other Bolters (Holt Bolt community members) to become part of The Holt Bolt Movement. A new pathway emerged built on trust, adaptability and meaningful connection. 10 years on, Jacko is still part of The Holt Bolt Movement, and a truly inclusive community has been created.

Thousands of Bolters participate in services provided by The Holt Bolt Movement in our centres at Chermside, Clontarf and Caboolture, and across Queensland. From school-based programs (Holt Sport) and S&C/Pilates (Motion Fusion) to Allied Health and education/employment supports (The Holt Bolt), The Holt Bolt Movement offers a wide range of quality services.
